"Giant, ravenous, deadly and worst of all its mind is corrupted into an almost feral-like state. A sickening scriptwright experiment done upon the Copper Fruit Kobold transformed it into a gluttonous monster. Despite its large and multiple mouths on its body, the most dangerous attack is from its spike-like appendages. One dose of its toxins will cancel all healing effects and have the body wither away. I want these creatures captured; their minds are still in there somewhere! Deliver them to the cathedral and reap the rewards!" ~Thomza Materia
Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! Been working on some real "MONSTROUS" designs as of late. It's also been a while since we've seen anything new from the Cult of the Falling Dragon. Thomza says it best on what this thing is or used to be before it was transformed by scriptwrighting. Also, a bit of lore information is that Thomza believes on some level if these beasts are captured... He can obviously try and undo some of the effects that were done to them. A call for adventurers and mercenaries to help aid the Warrior of the Pillars and help undo whatever terrible curse was laid upon them as the cult turned them into a writhing and serpent-like dragon.
Now, the bad thing is that Thomza is basically asking people to capture a giant basilisk and for them to somehow safely transport it to a cathedral. He's surprised that not many take him up on his offer and most people who take this listing (usually the unprepared) do not come back. Thomza believes it is merely an issue of "skill", but then again- these beasts can measure up to 40-50 ft long and are no small feat to take down let alone capture. It also doesn't help that Thomza forgot to leave out some important details. (As he's never really fought one in person before and merely heard it from other people.) Not only can they spit acid, launch deadly spikes, and have multiple mouths to crush through a knight's armor in, but they have the same terrifying regeneration of a copper fruit kobold, and the pure resistance to fire. Not only that, but it's mouths can consistently vanish, disappear, regenerate and regrow if any damage is done to them. It is actually recommended by monster hunting professionals to "wear them out." before trying to even remotely engage one. That these fights are usually a long battle of attrition. Also, if there is multiple? There's a high chance of them fusing together and becoming a "Toothy Hydra" and that's when it's time to pack up and leave. The Toothy Hydra is only authorized to be fought by soldiers of the Warrior of the Pillars and nobody else. However, a mercenary group that finds a "Toothy Hydra" is given a reward regardless. The Warrior of the Pillars used to pay MORE for finding Toothy Hydras until they discovered adventuring parties would try and get multiple to gather to start this process...
Now onto the creative process of this... It was honestly fun corrupting one of the creatures of my setting. Drawing a creature that's familiar but swapping out various body parts and changing them around to make them a lot "scarier" looking. I was also a bit worried on how detailed some parts of it were going to be. Especially when it came to the mouth, the teeth, and I even shaved down a lot of extra horns and spikes because I felt it took away from what I was going with. When it comes to a lot of my designs I want "simplicity' to come first so it doesn't detract away from the character/creature. So... In other words? Yeah, a lot of fun.
Other than that, besides a quick fun fact? I don't got much else to say-- Have a good day everyone!

I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system.

Fun Fact: Since this is my FA, I can say it here, I actually wanted to make the maw shot on it's neck area a lot less detailed, as the original bottom of the throat was a dark purple that descended downwards. Since this isn't really meant to be well, "Vore artwork", I made the throat of the creature a dark black to make it much more cartoonified.
