zoriginally uploaded to my Deviantart Page on June 4th, 2023, I did not have time to properly post everything at the time and noticed it was missing from my FA gallery, I aim to fix that.
"The beast of metal marches forth! Another one of Angel-Tech's blasphemous experiments of improving the Human self. A beast of half fish and half human stirs beneath its skin of hardened titanium. Unfortunately, it's helmet is just for show and its targeting systems are somewhere deep within its very core. Aim for its chest-frame with anti-armor weapons! Beware its ungodly strength and its heavy laser weapon! It's not plasma, but still keep your heads down!" ~Captain PiK
Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! Today I'm bringing you more stuff from the Angel-Tech rework! If you don't know who they are or what's going on? You can read up more here: The Ascent of the Angels
Captain PiK describes it best and this is one of Angel-Tech's "Sub-Human" units that are rarely deployed on the battlefield to help support and fill in various roles on the battlefield. The Titan Marine is a bruiser, heavy armor, and a walking tank. Angel-Tech despite it's use of vehicles would rather have smaller and condensed down units for ground combat. The Titan Marine filling this job spot to soak up damage, trick the enemy, deal heavy damage right on back, and even pin down foes with heavy suppressive fire as they continue their march. Sub-Humans are built for the sole purpose of combat and warfare, the "Fish" variant comes from a failed attempt at creating mermaids when Angel-Tech found themselves struggling against an ocean world. They failed their various invasion attempts before giving up, but the "failed experiments" would soon find themselves repurposed. Looking closer to that of an octopus underneath it's shell with a humanoid looking face, able to manipulate multiple appendages at once. Making it closer to that of a 8 Ft Tall Mech suit for the user underneath. With their high form of manipulation these variants of sub-humans would find themselves as engineers, marines, and even piloting small drone-like vehicles.
Its armor is actually the "Plantaran MK2 Heavy Weapon" Set, just heavily modified so that humanity can use it without a problem. Heavy titanium plates layered over an exoskeleton to protect the user. However, getting out of the armor has caused many problems for Plantarans, but for the sub-humans that lurk within? They're... Not really getting out of there and can sustain themselves indefinitely. Other than that? Expect more sub-humans from time and time again from Angel-Tech, and even expect me to draw what one of these monsters look like out of their shell as the idea I have behind them are truly alien. They're also inspired by "Retro Science Fiction" as you can tell from their dome-like helmet, ball-like laser weapon and overly bulky armor. Until next time, have a good one everybody!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system.
