Happy anniversary, dear  BunnyHugger!

This started out as trying to draw a little something in the style of Elzie Segar, creator of Popeye, a character of great importance to both of us and to our relationship. But, uh, have you ever seen a rabbit in the comic strip Popeye? Yeah. Coatis neither, sure, but you can use Eugene the Jeep as a good template for a coati. (I'm convinced that Eugene was Segar's attempt to have a character who looked like Krazy Kat; he and George Herriman were mutual admirers. But the stretch from Jeep to Coati isn't a big one.)

Well of course there was a great Segar-esque rabbit, although I didn't find the reference before I had already finished drawing it. It's from way back when the Squeaky Clean Furry Archive was a thing --- https://yerf.metafur.org/fielheat/segarbun.jpg --- and drawn by  BunnyHugger.

I don't have nearly so clever a design for a bunny as she had, all that time ago, but never mind. I still liked drawing this, and liked drawing something with much more physical contact than usual for my pictures. And I'm so happy to be with her.
