"Ah, the Ultrinians, the “Boogeyman” of the known realm. These creatures used to be pretty common back when Cycle 10 first began when it was simply known as the “old realm”. Creating massive stone structures on lush planets and to be the first to create proper FTL travel. They were blessed with extremely high intelligence and a deep understanding of magic. Soon they would branch out into science and engineering as well, leaving magic for personal use. Once thought to be on top of their game, mankind would step in during their glory days and the Ultrinians and their sprawling empires would be wiped out by terrible biological weaponry. Most of their technology would be stolen or lost, and they would fade into obscurity as the mankind burned away their existence from history as well as other various aliens of the “old realm.”
However, even after this disaster, small pockets of their colonies would remain, and they would find themselves thriving in the Realm of Materia in secret. Here they would form various branches such as Yggdrasil, Nidhogg, and Alfheim. All of these factions would constantly declare war on one another and outside factions with constant sabotage missions, but instead of they, themselves fighting their wars, they would create brand-new and modified alien species to strike one another down thanks to their extremely low population count. After the “War of the Stars” these factions would soon dissolve into a brand-new one that is a vassal of the Pillars of Creation, named, “Niflheim”
Ultrinians despite being freakishly tall are not known for their physical strength and are known to “casually float” thanks to certain glands in their body and it would explain their underdeveloped legs, but very beefy and long tail. Most of them will have very pale skin, and if they suffer any scars or wounds? Sometimes it’s entirely permanent as their natural regenerative abilities and immune system is very weak. However, they’re extremely gifted with magic, and are an abhorrently dangerous threat when cornered. Do not think for a moment they do not have a barrier up at all times around themselves to keep most things out." ~Commander Proto
Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! This one took me a long while to finally get finished, a lot longer than I expected and so much so to where I really don't have any... Backlog. Frankly a lot of things are going on in my life right now, so expect some slow-down on my end with responses, uploads, etc- until I can finally and fully get some stuff sorted out. That's just an update on that end at the very least, we'll just have to see how things play out. There's not much for me to actually add onto this piece outside of saying, "Hey guys did you know this alien species was inspired off of Giegue or Giygas from the Mother series? Did you know that they actually classify as dragons?" and things I've already said in multiple posts beforehand of them getting an actual reference point. Thank you all for reading, have a nice day!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system.
