"Ah, yes, the Mandrake! The creature born from the Fruit of Eda! This sentient alien species is absolutely marvelous as if dates are anything to go by it’s one of the first to gain sentience in this realm! Mandrakes are... Small, as they can be numerous, all gathering around their plant-y kingdoms that they usually refuse to leave. Many mandrakes will follow a “Queen” and they will viciously defend their territory and expand it.
Mandrake “gear” is pretty primitive, as they’ll evolve new subclasses to fill the niche of their colonies. To the right we can see your basic “drone” worker which dominate most of their colonies in population. They’re able to fill almost every role, but do not exceed in anything until they metamorphosis and evolve. The drone is simple, strong arms for climbing and combat, a vine sprouting from their head to be used as a third tool for manipulation, and long ears that not only give enhanced hearing, but allow them to breathe and smell.
The epidermis of the mandrake can be various colors, usually adapting to whatever biome they were born in. This epidermis also used to be hunted and coveted for their unique healing properties."

Hee-Ho, howdy everyone! Welcome to the Mandrake rework as I continue to separate and distinguish them from their original inspiration from Pikmin. Although the two of them couldn't be any more different. In fact, I kind of based them closer to that of several other alien species, including various insects. (Impressively, the Leaf-Cutter ants and Caterpillars.) Proto probably explains them the best in his abridged description of the species, but I will also eventually begin to start to draw their various "evolutions" so to speak. That and their origin point comes all the way back in "Cycle 9" of the universe. As well as their colonies and so on and so forth... Next up? Ultrinians!
Thanks for reading everyone, have a good day!
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system.
