The past 1-2 years I was feeling so disconnected from my fursona I just didn't even want to have anything to do with them anymore. Now with their new design and gender change I feel more connected than ever!

Even if I changed their gender, I'll probably keep their old name, I don't particularly mind them having a feminine name and had good reasons picking that name when I did back then anyway.
