Talk of this Tellus world is making me wonder about how different Earth and Terra from my stories could have ended up. Perhaps unfortunately, Chaos Storms ripped apart the boundaries every thousand years or so and dumped small populations of humans there to grow and spread. I might've taken the coward's way out in deciding magical creatures generated the energy they needed, I didn't want to put a ticking countdown clock over Princess's head. ^.^;;
Really looking forward to this setting being shown more. ^.^

Interesting! I love the idea of mythical creatures becoming normal creatures when deprived of "magical" energy. That's a cool concept.
I can't help but be reminded of The Warp from Warhammer from that description of Tellus. "It's empty" Yeah, sure, if you ignore all the demons pouring out of it. Lol.

I was thinking more of the Tellus and Theia collision (supposedly creating the Earth and the Moon) for a pairing...I didn't realize the name Tellus appeared in Warhammer too. It seems Theia is a commonly accepted name for the smaller of the two former objects, but most other sources scrapped Tellus and just say Theia collided with Earth.
And how could we explain where they all went? How could they, with all their gifts, not endure while many others with very similar forms are still here?
I was going to go further into a world where fewer and fewer species are around at all. I haven't decided if they're all in the same setting, though.

Huh...I didn't know the word Tellus was used in Warhammer before just now, either. I just googled it and sure enough, it's a planet apparently. xD
The source ot Tellical energy just reminded me of the Warp in that series--an otherworldly plane of what they thought was pure energy at first but turned out to be a whole lot more.

Yay! Arthur is back! I was surprised at first by how verbose the first few paragraphs were—I had gotten used to your volleys of witty retorts from the others of yours I've read. But I think it serves well those subtle social dynamics—I really like the little pauses. I certainly wasn't sure who was in control.
But I appreciate the primers in this one. Now I finally understand what tellical energy is and why those oh-so-distinguished dragons are always in the upper eschelon of society. I'm particularly curious about the tellical energy, though. I have an elementary understanding of physics, but it sounds like energy in this world takes advantage of some sort of osmotic pressure? The first thing I thought of was how cells harness energy by the movement of particles across membranes.
And the 'mysterious' badger "Cletus Von Fr—"... that last name seems awfully familiar.
