Climbing the stairs for the umpteenth time, Juan ascended into the dimly-lit attic of Mary-Anne Harcourt’s currently unoccupied house. Slightly puffed, Juan took stock of the boxes and furniture that had to be packed up and placed in the U-Haul destined for the Sunrise Retirement Home. Usually, these retirement home relocation jobs took a while given the people being relocated had many possessions, but the hours were good, it paid well and Sunrise was an excellent client, so he wouldn’t complain.
However, to say that Mrs. Harcourt possessed a lot of prized possessions would be an understatement; after many years of travelling the furthest reaches of the world, she’d accumulated treasured pieces. prized trophies and knick-knacks beyond belief. Picking up yet another box of mixed goods, Juan headed for the stairs preparing for the long descent to the ground floor but before he could, something gold and very, very shiny caught his attention from his peripheries.
