Mini PSA: Know Your Hairy Pachyderms!
(You can thank me for being so DUMB. (Apologies to those you who actually know stuff.))

I used to think that mastodon and mammoth were just 2 different names for the same thing. BZZT! They're 2 branches of the pachyderm family. Mastodons were smaller, stockier and have fairly straight tusks. There might be some disagreement about how hairy they really were. Mammoths were taller, shaggier, have a tuft of hair on their heads and longer, curving tusks. Hopefully our models here give you some idea of the difference.
