Heya,
I live in a pretty hot state in the US. In summer it's not too unheard of for temps to reach into triple digits, Fahrenheit however not Celsius. If it was the latter I'd literally be a hot-dog and not the good kind ha-ha.
IRL I get hot easily, I have the fan on all the time and I drink colder liquids like ice-water any chance I get. Ice-cream helps too and so does dousing my head in cold water. Anything and everything to get cooler.
What sucks though is my car's A/C doesn't work, and I resort to rolling down my windows while driving. While I personally wouldn't stick my head out the window, Reede definitely would and the whole nine-yards - also probably have his tongue smack against an innocent bystander XD
He does his best to stay cool despite only being able to sweat through his paw pads, and of course panting like there is no tomorrow keeps him cool. Don't worry his A/C works but he doesn't want to pay a fortune as he keeps it at 60°F all the time. Plus he ate all the pistachio ice cream in that position too, and will go for the waffles next if it'll cool him down ha-ha.
I loved the close up of Dudley in my previous drawing and just had to do one of Reede. I'm on a roll this week and I'm glad I was able to draw many things within a short period.
Thanks for hanging around -
have a great day

One predicament to another, not a fun way for a day to turn out. He's going to end up having it happen anyway though ha-ha.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I had no idea some were having trouble loading up the images on their end.
I scale down drawings to 10MB - FA's highest allowed size for uploads - and that's most likely the reason why. I'll try to have it be 8MB/9MB next time. That way it's a bit smaller and won't affect the art too much.

I agree, a fur covered mutt - dark fur no less - would benefit in the cooling down department from wearing nothing.
However being a dog of the 21st century he still needs to go about his daily activities and errands, so taking on and off his clothes everytime he needed to go outside would be too big of a hassle and not worth it ha-ha.

I can't tell if he's in there to cool off or simply to eat the freezer contents lol. In any case, leaving the freezer open unfortunately will affect the power bill though whether less than having the AC down to 60' I'm not sure.
You are one tough cookie to be able to survive driving in Arizona without AC. But then again, humanity has survived without AC for thousands of years, maybe we are just spoiled to the point we don't think we could survive without modern conveniences.

XD He initially tried to cool off by eating the ice cream but opted to stay in there when we was finished, and now nothing is safe in the freezer.
Too bad he likes it too be cold, poor dog has to suffer bills as a result ha-ha.
It sure is a chore, but to save myself the hassle of an entire car A/C replacement I'll make do with.
I don't know how they did it back then, but I'm sure glad I was born now and not then!

I think should he ever be stuck like that, he'll find a way out but only after an hour of howling and whining XD
I've been quoted so much for that repair, and right now I'm just sticking it out to save the money. I don't go out often anyways - only for the occasional cold-brew coffee at a shop :)

Thank you for your sympathy, he sure does need it. And Kool-aid too XD
Living in a hot area is tough, during the summer it's dreadful with how hot literally everything the heat touches can be. Reede can barely speak if he chooses to go outside without proper clothes and hydration, it's just constant panting ha-ha.
I'll roll down all the windows and wait 20 seconds before settling in, otherwise I'll get baked like a cookie :(

I love cold drinks, so much so if anything is ever above super hot or just hot in general I can't drink it. I will pour coffee using a Keurig or French press and immediately shove the cup on the freezer if I don't have any ice on hand.
Nights here where I live are odd, there's no sun out at all but it sure feels like it - you hit it on the mark exactly ha-ha.
Shoes are needed, paw pads on hot floors is not good!

There is nothing better than a cold drink on a warm day. So you like drinking cold coffee? xD. I just blow for a while until hot food or drinks are somewhat cooler jaja.
Yes, some days ago were I live it was 36C° at midnight, and power went out for like 4 hours D:
Barefoot on hot floors is not good in general xD

I find comfort in cold drinks on a hot day as well ha-ha. I prefer cold drinks in general, anything hot will make me cool it down before drinking. I've burned my mouth so many times due to hot beverages, it made me super sensitive to heat.
Oh no! I hope the groceries and perishable foods were okay, and that you guys got through it without too much of a hassle. Problems stacking up like that is difficult.
Burns on the bottom of the feet is not fun, putting socks on can be painful in of itself. At a pool if your feet-ies are covered in water - then you have a 4-6 second window on the non-shaded parts of the floor before the seering hot cement evaporates the water XD

Then go for cold drinks jaja, they are better XD.
There were no problems with that, fortunately power has not went away since that :D
I always bring some foot wear near the pool because I don't like to walk or run on the hot floor, feels slippy and I don't want to fall on the floor xD.

I definitely agree :)
I'm happy, when the power goes out anything can happen.
I used my old sandals so much the seams are already completely split and there's a chunk taken out of the bottom of my right one and you can see through it XD
I need to buy some new ones soon.

Ahahaha I love how you actually drew sweat coming off his pawpads
Also relatable because when I was younger, I'd stick my head in the freezer whenever it got hot LMAO - as for some reason the skin on my face gets irritated and hurty when hot - and my head's usually the first to get hot so ;p
AGREED about getting hot easily though - I'm always having a fan on me too LMAO

Thank you for noticing that detail!
I forgot dogs don't sweat as people do and was going to do it like off his face but then I remembered and tried to do some biology right haha.
Same, the freezer offered some protection from the summer heat - but it didn't work for long cause you couldn't keep your head in there forever!
I love fans, they work wonders!

Sorry for a late reply aaa
Ayy :D
Oooh LMAO. He would've been way too wet and droopy if you had forgotten anyways x3 like a dog after a rainstorm ;p I don't think most folk include that detail so good on ya uwu
TRUEEEEE and unfortunately notttttt :weary:
Best way to stay cool I've found is to put just enough water that it makes contact with your skin but doesn't soak into your clothing (usually a bit of a drizzle on the hair and a few splashes on the face) and then doing the freezer thing. The water is naturally a conductor and will move that heat away from ya :D (same reason why metal feels cold to the touch - it's stealing your heat!)
