Myth confirm or busted , can an onion make people cry ? The answer is yes and there's a reason .

You see , when someone is slicing of dicing up the onion , the onion cells release the compound of air . When this occurs , " enzyme " works to alter the amino acids into lachrymator compounds . This form of sulfuric acid irritates the nerves around the eyes making them tear .

For example to avoid having tear while cutting up red and white onion , try using a fork and the fruit peeler or freeze the onion for about 10 to 15 minutes .

So , it was myth confirmed .

Also , wheeler have found a half slice onion until he accidentally sniff the onion and tears started dripping from his eyes .
