I just got a drawing tablet, so this is my first drawing using one. I know it's far from the best, but I'm proud of it ^^
So, I've been creating a fantasy universe for a while now (6 years I think ? ). This is an Aviès, one of the many races present in this universe. But unfortunately for our friend, he has been struck with a petrification rune, engraving the rune's symbol on his chest and permanently turning him into a stone statue. This is irreversible and destroys the soul of the victim, so no resurrection and no afterlife for this fellow. Strong runes like this one are single use only and are destroyed after being used, and they require a huge amount of energy and mastery over the runes.

Hey there congrats on a good looking 1st tablet drawing here, you have some nice crisp lines and the shading and colour do great to emphasize it. Also you made a great pose, just a bit unsteady and shows it was an instant, and the expression too shows a ton of shock overall it really it captures the complete instant shock, feel and devastation of the spell!
And thank you for adding in some story and context behind this as it really adds to the overall drawing, knowing it spell based and the power needed as well as make me think of who might wield it keep it up!

Oh my! Soul destruction in a world in which ressurection exists? That's brutal and I love it! The pose, the facial expression, the description, I love everything! I'm a big fan of petrification and other inannimate transformation, so I hope to see more races meeting this fate. Also, I like how rune stays like a scar on a victim. Everyone can know what happen to this person and it's even more terrifying (in a good way hahah!). Good job! Especially for the first post ^-^
