Lucrehulks are one of a handful of CIS warship classes that actually harbor the biological descendants of the ancient founding species of the Confederacy.
They now exist as a single species, albeit unrecognizable from these roots. They now resemble amorphous blobs of bioengineered tissue covered in a mess of cybernetic machinery, immobile and without expression. They sit in their unlit and humid residencies deep within their ships, moved only when they are required to convene personally or gather purely for symbolic meaning.
They are exceedingly rare to see in direct engagement, staying far behind in their battleships and dreadnoughts to command the fight through the chain of command.
Their presence on the colony allows them to command more directly with a system wide fleet. But they are well protected otherwise even without the excessive number of warships due to the political lock they have placed on the mayor and her colony's navy.
The majority of these beings commanding the colony reside in this circular Lucrehulk hovering above the capital island, with smaller groups commanding from lower ranking providence-class dreadnoughts scattered across the planet.
The mayor's personal supercarrier, the strongest ship of the colony's former navy, now permanently holds guarding position for the battleship. If the time shall ever arise from an uprising, the supercarrier will be used against her own people.
