This year’s theme at Furnal Equinox was ‘Tales from the Tavern’, a medieval adventurous theme that coupled very well with the traditional setting of Dungeons & Dragons. In this alternate universe, Dai has foregone his usual seat in the flying machine to instead practice the magical arts, and it is thanks to the magnificent
Moth Monarch that this terrific piece came to life after FE 2023. His officer’s uniform marked by insignia and wings has been swapped out for a mage’s robe marked by crescents and stars, and a wooden staff fits snuggly in his paw where usually a throttle lever would. But both professions have taken years of intense study and practice to master, training how to harness theory in practical offence and defence, and discovering how to adapt those skills for leisurely purposes. And just as a pilot is bound by the responsibilities of aviation law and regulation to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight, so too is a wizard bound by moral responsibility to ensure magic used for the benefit of others.
So please, do come, weary traveller. Allow me to rest this kettle in my paw, and in a few moments we may enjoy some delicious piping hot tea together! ^^
