Yet another great feat of engineering by the Thordonians, the recreation of a primordial quasi-star.
Constructed by a group of stellar converters, a type of mobile dyson sphere/foundry, they deposited matter from many thousands of stars into a single collection. They then simply moved off to allow a natural collapse of the core into a black hole and the development of fusion to take place, creating an accurate imitation of a quasi-star to the best of modern understanding.
This artificialy constructed star is 130 astronomical units in diameter with a total mass of 2,000 suns, equally distributed with the central black hole and exterior shell of stellar plasma.
But why would the Thordonians put such resources in this project? To summarize, it is part warfare dick-measuring, part power source, and part artistic expression.
The quasi-star will collect large amounts of interstellar dust in it's very short life span, but it will be enough kinetic energy to provide a surplus over the energy used in its construction. Also the black hole's hawking radiation can be sped up once the star collapses and will provide ample amounts of energy. The Thordonians create artificial black holes from collected stellar matter anyways to efficiently extract the total raw energy of matter without having to use subatomic factories to convert matter into energetic particles. I apologize for how badly worded that was.
