A discord user named snowb0und had me draw a cover for the initial draft of his novel! He needed something put together very quickly, and I did it in roughly 7 hours.


While this is hardly a perfect piece, I actually feel a bit of pride that I managed to get this done in such a short time. I tend to focus on the figure more than background illustration. I took lots of references pictures for this one, and studied up on how other artists handled such scenes. I learned a whole lot! I think I will be less scared of drawing backgrounds after this. It has kept me from trying to draw things I would otherwise enjoy, and I'm really grateful to have had a client be as kind as mine was.
