There's another name I haven't heard in years. Whatever happened to him?

I think I remember running into him years ago. Definitely staying well-hidden on purpose, though the reason wasn't too clear (or perhaps clouded by time).

Until he sent me an email about JPM's death, I hadn't seen or heard from him since AC/Phila, though he's still in my email address book, and I had the impression back then that he had looked at the direction the fandom was going, said "meh," and walked away like a lot of others at the time. Doing so doesn't mean one loses interest in the agreeable and interesting folks encountered in fandom; by maintaining contact with them one may well end up with an informal guerrilla underground counter-fandom, soemthing like the original creators' fandom before it went public. Or something of the sort.

Same thought here. I've not seen anything from him for . . gosh, a long time.
