Pop punk has long been destroyed by none other than Avril Lavigne. I have been patiently waiting for her to grow up and act like a woman in her thirties (she is 39 as of this writing), but I've been assured that she hasn't and never will. She still acts the way she did 21 years ago because she wants to be trendy and continue appealing to the lowest common denominator.
