To her shock, Paul explains that no harm will come to them as an agreement exist between the Zelans and Pigeonians, which was basically, selling off the Daiku Maryu for safe passage – a detail that is contradicted by the fact the main Pigeon Ship was able to fend off the attack from early ... PLOT HOLE. Ice Killer then proceeds to attack the Daiku Maryu, whose weapons are ineffective on the Beast; the monster proceeds to use its Power to freeze the entire vessel, its internals heaters unable to fend off the cold; the crew wears thermal suits, but still, they enter into a deep slumber produced by the cold.
Realizing she could not leave her friends behind, Midori splits the Transport Pod, bids farewell to Paul with a kiss, and flies back to save her friends in the Daiku Maryu, which the Beasts had begun to tear apart a bit at a time when Midori shows up and repels the monster; she then fires an Anti-freezer beam that frees the ship from its frozen trap and awakens the crew: Gaiking is launched and assemble, and Ice Killer goes after it but is pinned when the Daiku Maryu makes its Volution Protect, partially denting its body; when released, Sanshiro disposes of the monster with Saur Geyser.
Afterwards, having rejoined the Crew, Midori looks out the window to the Constellation of Scorpio, where her mother is, with one of the stars of the Constellation glowing brighter than the others.
