Just a few more views of the Orca and its variant class, Blackfish.
Their individual stories are very much still TBD, as I plan on using both extensively in the next few months in my current Traveller game - once the next round of game-changing politics, exploration of an ancient site, and dealings with the neighboring Droyne and the bird race of Krixteatl are settled.
Orcas also heavily underarmed for their size, sporting only two turrets for the potential 5 hardpoints it could have had.
Also, Orcas and Blackfishes are some of the few ship designs that Neu Samara produces that -don't- use missiles. By the time the merchants were becoming common, escorts were also available, forgoing the need for heavy defenses on tradeships. As to the Orbital Kommandos, some individual ships had their lasers replaced with missile launchers, but for the most part, it was held early that Kommandos wouldn't be used in any locale that had extremely high radiation, including that provided by the ship itself. Later, the philosophy was changed, but on other, generally larger and more multi-disciplinary Kommando vessels.

I'm really liking these models--very impressive. Sounds like you've got a pretty well established universe on your hands here. You say your "current Traveler game"; is this a project you're working on right now, or are these plans for a game you intend to make in the future? I was bit confused there.
Its one in progress - I've been running it every weekend for the last year and a half now, so what you see is usually stuff the players are likely to need, or encounter in the near future - though a lot is still just 'background universe' .. allies and friends, NPC's that are flying these ships, etc.
