This, as far as I could ascertain after careful perusal of book, film, maps and the place itself, is the field Fiver had his vision about near the beginning of Watership Down. It's on the southern outskirts of Newbury, and the Sandleford warren itself was not far away. In all honesty it's not the most thrilling of WD locations -- but as the trigger for all that followed it may well be one of the most significant. I took this photo on my visit to the area in March 2004.
