its prolly a subset of the usual fishfolk that happen to reside in the oceans of multiple inhabited planets, fishfolk have demon heritage, so this one is probably on the more imp side of the demon ancestry side.
Demons can cross over from underworld to overworld decently easily, which is why they're widespread across multiple planets.
The Marronians also have some demon heritage! but that's less because of evolution, their creator deity used the already existing demons as a sort of base to create them.

They're the only two species to have demonic ancestry so far though, most other races tend to be just have mortal ancestry, aside from the Alternarians who are somewhat divine in nature, their lives being inherently linked to the stars, about every Alternarian has a star out there that they share their very soul with, some even black holes.
