I approached the massive tree of divine proportions, it was bustling with activity. A four legged, furry denizen accosted me.

"From the insignia I can see that you are a trade caravan. Have you come with the shipment from the south?"

I nodded, signalling him to follow me to the wagon behind my bison-goat. he climbed up onto the frame of the wagon, I saw him smile and bask in the sunlight that trickled through the leaves that shaded the area.

"Did you need some help carrying this over to the Arbropolis? I'm not going to fit inside but this seems a bit heavy for a smaller species like you"

The small opossum chuckled, his many teeth glistening in his smile. "That would be helpful, earth-kin. Please excuse the aroma, it smells like rotting 'possum, a crow had nearly scared one of us dead!" He trotted towards the main entrance to the city in the tree, his gait being funny and sassy. Is it true these creatures are from the before times? Like the humans?
