‘Let go of my friends and back off!!’
“When my friends Lucia and Hula Girl came to visit me this is not how I was expecting things to go,…
It started out as such a nice day, until the Wisps warned me that a bunch of Thieves had made it through the jungle and were raiding three different ruins at once. Lucia and Hula Girl agreed to help me take care of them and we decided to split up and each take care of one place and group of thieves. But, before I could warn of the dangers of the ruins she was heading to Hula Girl had already head off, with just a shout of ‘I got this.’ Then Lucia must have finished up with her thief quickly and decided to go help Hula Girl,…
So, each of the ruins has different traps in them, and not just small traps like poison darts, or pit falls, but Big traps, meant as the last line of defense to keep people away from the keys that keep the prisons of the Dark Forces sealed. These traps are very dangerous, and they do not distinguish between friend or foe.
The trap in the ruins Hula Girl went to I call ‘Mimic Slimes’, it releases a flood of magical slime that vaguely copies the body form of the person that sets it off, to confuse them and then swarm over and engulf them. Since Hula Girl was there when the trap was set off the slime took a form based on her, becoming, well,… Slime Girls. Being made of slime, most attacks and weapons do nothing to them, as Hula Girl and Lucia quickly found out, and the slime girls had captured both of them by the time I arrived.
Thankfully though, my blades do hurt the slimes, I’m not sure why, maybe it’s because they were granted to me by the Primal Forces as Guardian of the island, or maybe simply because they are magical. I’m not really sure, but they work, cutting through the slimes as though burning them, and if I do enough damage eventually the slimes will withdraw and the trap will reset. And it’s not my first time dealing with the Mimic Slimes, so I know how to deal with them without getting stuck, like Hula and Lucia did.
Ugh,… we are all going to need a bath when this is done,…”

From the color comms of
shonuff44 comes this incredible picture, serving as a follow up to one of his slimey YCH’s, where, rather than being trapped by a horde of slime girls Ember is instead giving them hell. ;)
A picture suggested to me by Jurgenblue to go along with the slime ych pictures he got, and I think it provides and great followup. I love the ferocity of this picture, Ember definitely means business, and from her posing, accented by the motion lines and the slashes through the various slime girls, it certainly seems like she is a whirlwind of motion and blades. The sense of motion is further accented by the swaying of her hair, and the flaring out of her leaves, even the swaying of the spindly things from her flower. I love her expression, so focused and aggressive, and it’s great how though the slime is covering her feet, she’s clearly not letting it slow her down. The slime girls look great, so goopy and gooey, with their varying poses and expressions in reaction to Ember, and the light from their faces and where they are cut is a nice accent to show their magical nature, and the little flecks of slime in the air is a nice touch to accent the action. All in all, a great action picture. :)
Thank you for this great picture, Sho. :)

Ember to the rescue, and perhaps it would teach Hula Girl to listen before rushing off to save the day.
Also, considering the fact their based off Hula Girl, leaves me to believe that she triggered it while striking a pose to stop the explorer, causing her foot to be on a obvious button or push a rope. ;)

Indeed, and yeah, it might teach her that, or it might not. ;)
Yeah, that is a good catch from the writeup, so it is entirely possible Hula Girl set it off, one way or another, though I feel a mystical trap like this might be triggered by more than just a button or rope, but no doubt striking a pose in the wrong spot would do the trick. ;)

It's a good thing Ember has the right tool for the job for taking out the Slimes :). Since they can be pretty tricky to deal with ;). But at least in the end Hula Girl and Lucia can be rescued :D. Great work done by Sho once again :). Truth be told, part of me wanted to get that YCH for the Slime, but seeing that there was no way out, I kind of backed out. But who knows, maybe in the future? I'll have to see.
