Cheshire the Fox
In contrast to the previous example of where the Caragh began from, this is their modern incarnation. Also, you may note they are freakishly strong for their little frames, being a match for the strongest of Saorsian species.
You see, Humans evolved on Terra (slightly different than Earth), and kind of got it in their heads what mage familiars would be like. When they were finally transported to a world with actual magic, they were... "disappointed," shall we say. They were basically told yeah, no, familiars can't actually do that.
The Humans then went "hold my beer" and shortly after the Caragh were created.
Borne from taking a mage familiar, increasing their intelligence and reasoning capacity, then bolstering their physical form to take on the traits of a golem and gargoyle, these artificial constructs are the perfect companion for their creator, though ultimately doomed to be left alone and without guidance after their owner's passing or moving on, leaving them in search of meaning in life now that they no longer possess someone to provide it for them. Turns out life's a whole lot less complicated when you don't have to wonder about the reason why you exist and the nature of life when you can literally just ask your creator.
