Machiael's the warden of Saorsa, and basically in charge of the entire planet. She's rude, arrogant, snarky, and usually right which makes it that much worse. She's the closest thing to a primary antagonist baked into the game's setting as you'll get.

Though she's charged with ensuring Saorsa's goal of the mass-production of new deities runs smoothly, she may have somewhat different plans in mind. The thing is... she has some pretty frustratingly good reasons for why she does the things she does.

You may also note she's significantly smaller than Noelstiael. The Æserians age a bit weirdly in that they start off with large, unwieldy bodies when they convert over from flesh to mechanical frames in adolescence, but then gradually grow more efficient over time so that they're able to maintain the same - or better - functionality in a smaller frame. This basically gives off the impression that they look like they age backwards into a more childlike state. In reality, Machiael is one of the oldest of the Æserians, hence her tiny stature.
