I think you're thinking of indestructibility. Invulnerability would mean they wouldn't be vulnerable to pain. I think.

Invulnerability infers a resistance to corporeal injury. Triggering nerve responses is necessary for basic bodily function. Unless they were an inorganic life form, they would still be vulnerable to nerve stimulus.

Well, as someone with advanced neuropathy in my feet and hands, I can tell you even biological beings can lose feeling in their bodies. And considering they would be giving him these abilities as part of an experiment, I'd think at the least they'd reduce such sensations so he could function while invulnerable.

This does raise some questions though. Like does Superman or the Hulk feel pain when people are shooting them? Or just the sensation of being poked by something? I feel like the Hulk is just annoyed by them, which would suggest pain isn't that big of a deal while the amount of force it takes to even get Superman to react to being attacked is immense. Would your idea work on either of them, I wonder?

Look at superman when attacked by livewire or electricity in general. Might not hurt him but he does definitely feel pain. Them there is the whole idea of magic, a whole other can of worms.
