...A quick concept for Hyembs' health bar. It's just a bunch of cookies on a small wooden shelf that comes crashing down anytime she would take damage. The cookie getting a bite out of it, and sometimes there might be one of her Kobold servants holding onto it. Since she's meant to be a platformer hero, I wanted her health bar to be something... More unique. This is all of course just a concept for now, but since she's a very "bubbly" type character I thought of "Oh yeah, why not an interactive health bar? One that anytime there's damage taken, there's a distinctive "crunch" sound like someone is eating something and the health bar shows up." Something I would define as "cute" for the character to have.
Technically Hyembs having 6 HP in total in the concept since she's meant to be a tank. Although how she recovers that health might just be through consumption of confectionary treats, health potions, or I even thought of randomly placed sheep around the map that she can eat to restore health. Same goes with disarming certain enemies she can eat for health and or even colorful looking band-aids that she can pick up to patch herself up with. Also, when it comes to health I thought of well as having enemies or hazards that take down an entire "cookies worth" of health.
However, this is all a concept for a Video Game that doesn't really exist. Although it's a fun little thought experiment of how her setting works and how she would restore said health. So, for now her world just works off of video game like mechanics for the artwork that is produced of Hyembs.
