there was something about that title
To be fair, I nicked that title from WD! It's in the poem Hyzenthlay tells in chapter 35 ("Groping").
despite his experience and authority, [Hazel] still has worries and doubts
Oh, yes. It would be out of character for him to be absolutely certain of something like that, even if he can seem to be outwardly.
I imagine [Kehaar] to be a lot of fun to write for
*Grins* He is, yes. You can't do an enormous amount unexpected with him, since there's not a huge amount of depth to his character, but he helps to push along the story quite well.
The description of the setting sun lighting up Blackavars ears and the surrounding countryside is just wonderful and very atmospheric
Thank you! It was something I felt I needed to get right, and as for the place they left Blackavar... let's just say it will feature again.
Bluebells little poem, so kindly finished by Silver, was a funny little moment
Heh; good old Bluebell the joker -- that comes across in the book, but as Bluebell isn't in the film at all it doesn't so much there. =:P
chewing pellets
Ah... this is basically "Richard Adams' handy euphemism" time. Not to put too fine a point on it, because their digestive system is not very complex, to get enough nutrients from their food rabbits excrete soft, partially digested droppings, which they then eat again. The second time through ends with the excretion of the small, rounded droppings you see everywhere in rabbit country. (Rodents do this sort of thing as well, as do a surprising number of other animals.)
