Hi! So I’ve been a part of this website for about two weeks now, and I have a couple of questions for all of y’all. Please answer any of all of them that you feel inclined to, I’m genuinely curious about your answers.
1) What do you think makes a YCH a *good* YCH? Is it the pose itself, the reputation of the artist, the quality of the base work, or some other factor? What makes you decide that a YCH is worth the money, and follow up, what do y’all see as reasonable price ranges for YCH’s where the artist is also still fairly compensated?
2) Likewise, what makes an adopt actually sell as opposed to just sitting there? I know this one is a little more personal because people have different tastes in styles, but what is it that makes you guys go “wow, I want to buy that one”
3) What kinds of Patreon rewards do y’all find the most incentivizing? What kinds of content makes you think paying for it every month is worth it? How often would you want Patreon only content uploads? What cues you in to the idea that an artist’s Patreon is going to be good or bad?
4) How inclined are y’all to follow longer term graphic novel or comic style stories? Is there a kind of sweet spot for story length in y’all’s eyes or is it really just story dependent?

1. What i find makes a good ych is the artists ability to comform the lineart to different characters and make slight additions. I dont want just the same lineart coloured in the same colour as my OC, i want the head redrawn to look like them. And sometimes making small additions and changes too, also alts. It also has gotta be a good price too, i oersonally dont like bidding on them i much perfer multislots at a low enough price, cheaper than regular comms of course because the basic lineart is already there.
2. For me personally i like adopts based on real animals. I dont like seeing adopts that are the same lineart coloured different colours over and over again cause that shows me very little effort went into actuslly making them. And same as YCHs, cheap prices. I can understand bidding for these as theyre one-off. Favourite animals would probably be canines in regular canine colours, if i see a cute female cocker spaniel adopt id snatch that shi up then and there X3 I also like to get an artpiece of my own of the character when i buy an adopt so possibly offering a discounted commission alongside the adopt would be cool to see. I dont like seeing way overpriced adopts, highest AB id entice would be 60 anything over i wouldnt bother bidding on. When i see prices of 100+ im like "yeah theyre full of themselves no thanks" lol. Ofc they are somewhat justified being high demand for the art but when you see someone with barely any watchers charging way too much for art im like noo thank youu lol
3. For patreons, i dont normally sub to them. What does make me sub is the opportunity for free art and suggestions, and free art streams. Also having an input into what art is made next with with a poll for example.
4. Me personally im not too into reading stories. What makes a good comic for me is when the action starts early. Roughly 20 pages or even less, but id only sit through 3 ish pages without action before id get bored. Ive seen ones with 400+ pages and only about 3 of them involve nudity at all. Personally also i love watching, the process of someone being tied up. E.g. the character is being arrested, youd have a few images dedicated to the officer placing her into handcuffs and sitting her in the car
But again thats all my personal opinion and feelings on things. Hope it helps somewhat anyway :3

I can answer #4 I like comic or visual novels that last a decent length so there's enough time for the characters to develope defining personalities or if they are short atleast they should have some decent content that makes it fun to read in passing. Thats just my opinion on this subject anyways. :)
