A vaguely environmentally-concerned piece I wrote while sitting peacefully in the Wyre Forest last summer. I quite like the structure, and the poem itself isn't the worst I've ever come up with.

*Purrhugs* Thank you very much. =:) Yep, the unusual structure is very much deliberate, partly because I thought it might make readers stop and think slightly more. That repeating 1/2/3-syllable pattern gives it a nice rhythm, but something a little out of the ordinary. As for your last comment, I think there is a little bit of melancholy in there, since the poem is about the slow death of an oak wood.
