Dwarfs & Elves. Their rivalry has shaped the world of Eltanin. Dwarven Empires have risen to oppose the Elves, and Elves in kind have formed armies to tear them down. In turn, Elven Kingdoms have oppressed the Dwarfs and Dwarfs have forged masterful, legendary items to tear down these kingdoms. In truth, both sides are two sides of a coin; descendent from ancient Fae and share similar statures and features. Dwarfs have turned to cradling within the wombs of their mountain homes. Elves took to the forests, building around the trees and streams rather than trying to dominate them.

Both species have similar heights, but differ a lot in their builds. They both tend to come between 3'6 to 4'3 on average, but there have been members of either species that can reach up to 5'0, an extreme rarity. Dwarfs have large, rounded, rigid ears while Elves have long, slender ears that they can move freely. On average, however, Elves tend to be taller by a Dwarf by an inch or two. In terms of build, however, Dwarfs tend to be more 'apple shaped'; buxom with plenty of curves, often having greater amounts of muscle. Elves tend to be more slender, but are often 'pear shaped'; being rather bottom heavy.

What brought many years of conflict the Dwarven Empire and Elven Kingdoms have been the views of progress and nature. Dwarfs view the world as a science and are in the constant pursuit of progress and innovation. They often comes in conflict with Elves and their belief in ancient custom and older ways. Just as an example, Dwarfs will want to chop down trees in order to build, but Elves will build around trees and won't take lightly to see them cut down.

It's only been recently when there's been something of ceasefire formed when they had to overcome their mutual enemy; Ogres.

An uneasy alliance has formed between these two species that has gone stable for the last 500 years. A long time when viewed through the eyes of us Humans, but for Dwarfs & Elves, it's a drop in the bucket, feels almost like yesterday to them.

Our two examples up there are an adventuring duo; 1 Dwarf & 1 Elf.

Lila Coinbelly, the youngest daughter to the head of the Coinbelly Clan. The Coinbellies are a clan of merchants; traders, craftsdwarfs, with the daughters of the clan being expected to marry warriors into the clan. Lila is well aware of the harsh reality that she's got 2 older sister and 5 older brothers ahead of her to being the head of the clan and has since taken up the life of an adventurer. She's trained in various melee weapons, but her favorite are a pair of twin, folded blades that rest on her hips. (Dwarf Fighter)

Her partner is Strongstar of the Blue River Clan. She can climb trees as fast as she can swim in the water, as the River Clan is skilled in the art of sailing and have navigated her forest through the river ways all her life. She was born into a family of Druids and she happily took up the tradition and is one with nature. She became an adventurer upon the completion of her Druid Traininer, now on a quest to travel the world and expand her mind with worldly knowledge. (Elf Druid)

Due to their homes being so close, the two of them are very familiar with each other, growing as enemies to rivals to friends-though, as some adventurers can attest, the firest of adventure can both destroy & strengthen friendships.
