Mute Swans by the banks of the River Severn in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. There are several pubs and cafés around here, and many people feed the ducks, geese and swans -- so anyone approaching is seen as a potential source of food! We'd only recently come out of a very cold spell (by English standards) when the river froze right across, so possibly food was still rather scarce.
A couple of the inevitable town pigeons can be seen in the background, along with some black-headed gulls -- the same species as Kehaar from Watership Down, although in winter plumage they don't have the full black head but simply a dark spot behind the eye.
The photo is a bit smaller than some I've posted, as it's cropped from an original taken with my old 3-megapixel Pentax. It's not a bad camera for its age and its spec, but it can't live with more modern models. It's rather too evident that I had to sharpen this photo a little too much in order to stop it looking fuzzy.
