Hmm...would it be an issue of strength though? A body made of a flexible material wouldn't be good for pulling something, would it? I don't think you'd make a rope out of Jello, for example :P
Then again to do a lot of the things she has done so far in the comic, Annie would need to be able to harden/soften her body at will.
