I never thought of this as a tired cliche.
More of a "You either like it or you don't" thing. And it's such a catchy tune it's hard for me not to like it.
To be honest I can think of a few characters that I'd like to see doing the Carmell dansen just beacuse it would seem out of character.
You did good animation here. Nice, clean and it's not jerky. Very well done.
