Name: John & Thomas Tawley
Location: Marblehead, MA
Date: John died in 1736 and Thomas almost exactly a year later
Carver: William Mumford (but someone else did the lettering)
John was 8, Thomas 12.
WM died in 1714 so why this stone was selected a few decades later to memorialize the deceased brothers here, I do not know. Archivist Daniel Farber guessed the carver was William Custin or William Codner, but only the latter was still alive in the 1730s, and his style is more consistent with the former.
