The sound of thunder was not like an explosion near them both, the shot went into the ceiling as the bat and Bethany struggled with the weapon. Bethany kept herself close to the bat and pushing on the gun so he couldn't properly aim it.
"Lucy, Run!" She shouted as she wrestled with the bat over the gun. Lucy watched for a bit, and tried to step out. Then the bat tried to turn the shotgun in her direction and pulled the trigger. Bethany pulled it up at the last minute, but it still went off. The gun blew books to papers to shreds by Lucy, the little girl screamed out as she backed away.
"Lucy, come on, run!" Bethany called as she held the gun up and away, But Lucy wouldn't go any way around them. "Lucy, you have to try again, I won't let him hurt you!" "Is that a promise?" The bat started to cackle again, pressing more on Bethany as he tried to force the gun.
Bethany, Panicking and thinking quick, she then forced the shotgun too low so it wasn't aiming for Lucy again, Then when the bat tried to force the gun up, she forced it up too high. As the gun raised up, the it went off, just missing both Bethany and the bat's. Bethany's left hear was ringing from the gun going off so close to her head, but she wasn't hurt. The bat, however, screeched out in pain and grabbed his head; he was trying to grab his ear while holding onto the gun. Bethany took this chance to try and pull the gun away again. "Now, Lucy! RUN!"
While they struggled, Lucy ran for the door and was out into the halls again. Bethany smiled watching her leave, and then tried to yank the gun out of the bat's hands. But the bat had taken that chance to recover while taking advantage of Bethany. When Bethany tried to pull the gun away, she was pulled closer instead, and the bat bit into her shoulder. Bethany cried out and tried to pull away, and she was met with the stock of the shotgun bashing her nose. Bethany fell back against one of the book shelves, looking up at a very angry bat.
"You really are a pain..." The bat said, his twisted eyes now burning glare as he opened up the shotgun "Just because you're So special I'll hunt her down once I'm done with you." He loaded two more arounds in, and then pointed it. "It'll be rabbit season!" Bethany looked down the barrel and saw death, yet she couldn't look away. The bat aimed right for her, pulling back the hammer, then his ear twitched. He turned the shotgun elsewhere and it was stopped by something. There was a loud clang before the shotgun shot another bookshelf, and what clattered to the floor beside Bethany was what looked like the blade of a small sword.
