It's a bit more complicated than that. He's a massively powerful magical creature. Part of the price of that was becoming macro sized.
In order to interact with regular people he has created a number of avatars, which are kind of remotely-controlled puppets. This would be one of those.

...this is the only time he's ever used a robotic avatar.
For everything else, such as this picture, they're designed to match a regular furre as closely as possible. The only obvious difference is that he can have several of them and thus be in several places at once, and that they can survive damage which would kill a normal furre.
