OK, enough originality. Back to the public-domain characters. Bingo The Monkey Doodle Boy was a character in what seems to be a one-shot comic book published by St John, cover date October 1953. Some of the poses in the book --- https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=21579 --- interested me and what the heck, who draws monkeys and other primates? Right? So this is a copy of the title panel from page 15, the start of the story 'Shipwrecked'. I think I learned something big from that left hand, although the unusual snout is also worth bringing into future work.
