Alternate version of The mysterious cities of gold episode 71 Zares returns in which Zia decided to disguise herself as a geisha to infiltrate the Shimazu's castle and try to find a way to escape Mendoza, Sanchot and Pedro.
Zares having recognized Zia in disguise let the young Inca enter the room where the three sailors are held. Hiding outside, Zares heard Mendoza discussing with Zia and gave him the compass of Ambrosius to give to Esteban. Mendoza also writes a message hidden inside telling him to beware of the alchemist.
Before he could leave the castle, Zares went into action to neutralize Zia and took the opportunity to steal the compass, he then bound/gagged her and sequestered her at the top of the castle in a cell securely locked from the inside before escaping through one of the windows.
