Childhood Games #1 Laffy Taffy 3D Pyramid Challenge
A new miniseries as a follow-up to my Childhood Fears series. Here I'll be talking about a game that I used to play during my childhood in the late-2000s thru the early-2010s around 2007/2008 and 2009. This game came out way before all these popular indie horror survival games like Five Nights at Freddy's, Bendy and The Ink Machine and many others, this game was the 2000s equivalent of that except there aren't jumpscares since it's not meant to be a horror game more of a survival game where you select two of the characters both male and female names John and Jennifer, you have to collect keys, search around the maze to extend the battery level on the flashlight, avoid those horrifying whangdoodles (the red monsters with purple hair as you can hear their loud footsteps in the game as there's a bunch of them walking around the maze), avoid falling, jump on ropes and swing across, jump on platforms and follow the sequence given, collect pieces of the map to get around the map and find more Laffy Taffy walls that tell jokes really punny jokes usually they're all pun based and use words that sound similar to the whole joke and punchline of a term and saying or whatever. The laughing you hear in the game comes from the Laffy Taffy walls although the laughing sounds pretty sinister and ominous for something that's supposed to sound like contagious haha so funny laughter which made think the laughing came from the whangdoodles, oh and the whangdoodles themselves are nightmare fuel with how sometimes you never see them coming, they'd get in your way or you have no other choice but to have to surrender to one of them if they get in your way, so pretty much there's 3 levels and you have to get a key to beat the level that'll lead you to stairs. Level 1 is banana, Level 2 is Cherry and the 3rd and final level is Chocolate. 3rd level gets more harder as the level is more bigger meaning there's more Laffy Taffy walls and bigger challenges, you can also use secret passwords to bypass a level to move on to the next level but you have to find the password and type it in correctly. Once you've beaten the game you get a cutscene with the player and the chocolate laffy taffy bar jumping and you can play again if you'd like originally I recall a little jingle would play once you'd beat the game and then the regular background music would resume afterwards, I was introduced to this game on the primary games website when it was on the Wonka games section back when that existed. Until the game disappeared from the site along with other Wonka games, but it seems that the game hasn't properly archived or maybe it's my stupid computer and its compatibility problems preventing me from properly playing the game as once I enter a sequence stage the game crashes or I mean gives me an error about a script problem preventing me from playing any further if only I could find the solution to this annoying problem so I can move on to the next thing.
