The Suctmaw is a feathered(furry) reptile that is rather large and often kept as pets. With seemingly no eyes their bulky body is more akin to a Rhino Iguana than anything else and as such; they are rather docile despite their terrifying feeding and mouth. They prefer to eat crustaceans. Their 'petals' latch onto the shells while their beak will break and bite through them to where its tongue can slip in and scoop out whatever is in there. With the toothed suction cups closest to the beak, its to keep the shells from opening and closing, closing, or squirming or escaping as they dig into the shells.

Imagine this as a giant dog with the appetite of a Savannah Monitor or Goldfish., Overfeeding until they die is a common mishap that will occur so YOU MUST REGULATE ITS FEEDING!

They must have a small pond to lay in as well, and its important to put its food in the water to help it hunt. For about 8 hours; it will stay out of the water but more often than not it likes to snooze, doze, or cuddle and play out of the water but sleep while lounging inside it.

The one showing is a male; as females will have a darker color of the inside of the maw; but those bright colors are often used to fend off larger predators or scare them just as if a shark were coming towards them. This sudden blossom of color can often help deter a shark or other predator from attacking as they don't know what just happened.
