This comic regularly plays with concepts like incest and borderline non-consensual sex. What if she's not trying to hide something, but forget something? Something horrible. Something that could change the nature of your relationship with a parent forever. Something that would make you want to ignore your father on their death bed. A burden she had to deal with, and one that she didn't want Seph and Dom to know about because nothing good can come from them finding out about it.

It'd be a dark direction to go but it wouldn't really surprise me.
