Yeah, I quite like the older body shells! I forget which model some of the rest are, I pulled down 3D models like anything 😅

Aw man, totally missed that! I’ve been using what models I could for reference, and drawing over, and didn’t twig at all 😂

I really have to commend you again for your amazing background work: so much detail and yet not cluttered either.

Thanks a lot man! Yeah, I’ve had a great time with the backgrounds this time around. Knowing a little 3D goes a long way to getting what’s in my head out 😂

Do you use 3D models in your art program to set the scene?

So I’m blocking out the scenes relatively rough (certainly not good enough to be used for animation) in blender. I use a mix of some simple poly modelling and some free models from a bunch of sites for the more detailed stuff like cars.

Then I use the dimensions of the comic frame for reference and play around with the camera to get the shots I want. Then I mostly trace over the 3D wireframe in Procreate and make it match the characters a little bit better!

Ah! Always interesting to hear the progress of creation from other artists.

It’s been fun using 3D as a tool. Especially with how accessible blender had made the process!
