It's not easy to keep watch over the valley while it's shrouded in mist.! Let us hope no unwelcome guests will take advantage of this...
Yet another coloring experiment, and I have to say I'm very proud of how this one turned out! The background was painted just with watercolor, while the foreground ledge area was painted with a mix of watercolor and tempera. ...and of course I had to sneak a CatButt in the picture, that cannot be avoided! :P

Though there is a comment to be made about how they seem to be flashing the entire valley, too =V
Lovely work on this one, as always! I always found that low-hanging mist beautiful to see. Where I used to grow up, we'd get it a lot in the winter and spring, but it was more at the border between the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands, so we'd just see the tips of the tall hills over the mist. Was still beautiful though.

Where I used to grow up, we'd get it a lot in the winter and spring, but it was more at the border between the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands, so we'd just see the tips of the tall hills over the mist. Was still beautiful though.
epic view is epic. the valley, too. XD
it could work if the sentinel lets their mind wander and finally become one with the mist, at least enough to sense life and noises down there. but it's dangerous too, some nebulous nights you can hear a whailing so distant you wonder if it was there at all, and the old ones say it's the spirit of a sentinel that got lost in the moonlit mist when their mortal coil suddenly died... and some of them wonder if it was a natural death, too.
we might never find out. and nobody dared face that spirit yet, so it can't be asked.
