This was recorded for a project I have been asked to help with, called 'Maude'
'Maude' is the story of a vixen flier and her Gee Bee R1 aircraft. The focus of the story is the 1931 National Air Races, where she will be flying the pylons. This music was chosen for an extremely energetic scene, 'The Race' to accompany your reading;
In 1931, a group of specially designed racing aircraft took to the air to fly around a set course in an open display of tenacity and courage. The pilots, all hailed as heroes of these 'modern' inventions, battled for space in what was one of the most dangerous sports ever conceived - pylon racing. Amidst the noise of seven powerful engines, belching smoke and flames from their exhaust stacks, only one could be crowned the victor.

It is a horrible title! I almost expected a literal piano quartet when I first heard this piece. But it is still oh so lovely sounding. :D
Anyways, you are a fantastic piano player! It's great to see talented musicians on this site collaborate together! If I had real recording equipment, I'd do the same and find cool musicians to work with. O:
Nice pun by the way. :P

Piano quartets are string trios with a piano more often than not (four pianos in one place would be a bit much!).
Well, thank you! Yeah, I've been working with these three fellows for a long time, it has been great (we knew each other much before FA of course!).
Hmm, that would be awesome! I know of a pretty good company that makes excellent mini all-in-one recorders. They're called Zoom, I'm actually using one of their microphones here. Cheap and with top notch quality!
At least it's not as bad as his friend, the constipated accountant who couldn't... budget. ¬¬

Oh yeah, I've heard of those microphones. One of my old percussion instructors used one to record our end-of-rehearsal run-throughs. They are pretty nice.
And yes.. I've heard That one before. ¬¬
I guess you could say that it was... - puts on aviators. - corny. YYYYYYYYYYEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Aw, thank you! That's awesome to read! =D
This piece has got to be one of the most exciting ones I know for this instrumentation. Once you get over the fingers plotting to assassinate you, it is great!
Don't worry, it's not as bad as the constipated accountant who couldn't budget... *facepalm*

The title may make you want to say "blah", but the music itself doesn't! This piece sounds really creative, adventurous, and pleasant, as if you're flying through the clouds, then you encounter some sort of obstacle, and finally all ends happily ever after. I like this a lot, you guys played really well~
If I had the ability to think of a better title I would totally give it, but it's a little improper to name something that isn't yours!
I think most music from before the 20th century never really had titles... Dull, dull, dull for sure. We always give them fake titles for the fun of it.
Aw, thank you! That's actually what I thought the music described as well! A thrilling air race, then oh no! The engine stops... you got to get it fixed. You manage and win the race! But then... Porco Rosso comes and steals the money. D= (I've been watching a few of your recommendations!), but then he decides to give it to some poor kids in an orphanage, which was what you were going to do anyway, so everyone is happy.
As for the pun... well... I'm sure that it's not so bad in French.

Neither would I, in all honesty!
It is a very good movie, I have the DVD of it, but I don't think that there's a youtube version, so...
But one other, very, very, very cool film is 'Allegro Non Troppo', it's a little like Disney's Fantasia, but much more 'indipendent', one song in particular (the Valse Triste) is absolutely beautiful. If you can find the version with the live action sequences you'll even get a barrel of laughs!

He must've used up all his inspiration for the music and then was out.. but really, just sleep on it and listen and come up with a title. To me, it speaks of the challenges of waking up with the struggle to make tea. All the energetic waves of music are about the promise of power that comes from the tea.. 1:05 before the end the protagonist imbibes the tea at last, and the rest is a celebration of the energy that courses through him or her.
I am not allowed to title some dead guy's work!
But we do have our own title to it, this movement's called the Air Race! Because.
What an interesting interpretation! I would not have thought of it in a million years. I bet the end is him having a slight bout of depression and then finally coming out the door and being rejuvenated by the morning sunlight!
