You know I love this already, and hearing the mix of it was fantastic :) It definitely runs through a lot of different styles - the very first part with the unusual 7/4-4/4 time changes reminded me strongly of the soundtrack to Final Fantasy 9, then it turned into your Baten Kaitos style, and when the double time drums came in at the one minute mark, I couldn't help but imagine the violin instrument being an electronic substitute for Eduardo Falaschi of Angra. The "fall" leading into the pause after that is quite wonderful, too...
The section at around 3:00 is a standout, as well, especially with the choir subtly in the background... this really is incredible. If by some miracle I ever finish my current game project and ever gather together the lack of sense necessary to attempt writing a role-playing game, you would be the first on my list of people to go to to do the soundtrack!
As for the ending... look out for the silent rain ;)
