Was gonna edit this before uploading it but it turns out the last time i worked on this was the day before my birthday so hopefully it's somewhat easy to read, anyways enjoy.
HALO: COVENANT
"You wanted to see me?" An elite with night black armour stood at the entrance of the prophets quarters, he had a very stern expression which wasn't uncommon for an elite.
The prophet smiled weakly "Yes, please come in, you should know by now that all are welcome in my quarters, would you like some tea? It is made from the bluest felvar leaves, it can help you relax"
Jek shook his head politely "No thanks, Prophet of Forgiveness, what did you want to discuss with me"
The prophet stirred his tea with a Ugparassa spoon, once the mixture was to his liking he set the spoon down and took a small sip of the fresh warm tea. "May i ask you something Jek? You have spent most of you're life studying humans, why do you have such a fondness for them?"
"Prophet of Forgiveness, i do not understand the question"
The prophet gently set the cup down onto the thrones armrest and placed his hands into his lap and interlocked his fingers, he sat up straight in his throne, the burgundy robe he wore was very loose on his body, the sleeves hung low, but not enough to be an annoyance, the fabric was different then most of the prophets, because of his age the robe was made of a very soft fabric which was meant to keep him warm during cold temperatures.
"Well from what i've heard, you don't seem to consider humans a threat, the missions you do...they seem to only be heretic related, not human, why is that?"
Jek crossed his arms, no one usually asked him questions about humans, probably because most of the covenant feared Jek. "Because there are worse threats then the humans in this world, the only reason the covenant considers humans a threat is because of the forerunners"
The prophet rubbed his chin in thought, that wasn't the answer he was expecting, but it was an answer that wasn't unpleasant "If a human we're to attack you or you're family would you be able to control yourself and not cause any harm to said individual?"
Jek sighed and looked at the floor for a moment before finally coming up with an answer "That depends, some humans consider us a threat because of all the problems we have caused them, but some humans will attack anyone without being provoked"
"Fascinating, would you protect a innocent human if they we're being attacked by a fellow elite?" The prophet leaned forward a bit, he enjoyed having conversations, especially with those who usually kept things to themselves.
Jek was confused, he had never been asked that question before, and the fact that a prophet was the first one to be curious made him feel a bit concerned "Prophet of Forgiveness, may i ask, why so many questions?"
The prophet ignored the question, he wanted an answer for his own "Please, answer the question of which was asked"
"If i or any other elite disobeyed orders the prophets would have our heads removed from our necks and our lifeless bodies paraded around the cities" Jek lowered his head, sometimes being an elite was both a blessing and a curse.
The prophet sighed and nodded in agreement "That is true, if Truth wasn't worshipped by the covenant this war wouldn't be as brutal"
"What do you mean?" Jek recognized that name, Truth was one of the most respected of prophets in the council, everyone respected him, except Jek.
"The Prophet of Truth has filled the councils minds with lies, he is the reason that the covenant considers humans to be a serious threat, if the council discovered the truth many things would change"
"But if you know the truth then why keep it to yourself? Why not tell the council, keeping it a secret for so long will only make things worse"
"I am but one prophet, do you really think the council will hear me out? Their minds have been too corrupted with lies, Besides you're clan and The Prophet of Understanding i do not trust anyone on this ship"
"That's something we have in common"
"You are a good elite Jek Medelm, i wish there we're more like you, but if there we're then that wouldn't make you unique"
"But that is all i had to say, you may leave Jek, but before you go i have to ask something of you, the conversation we had, promise me it will stay between us"
"I promise" Jek went to leave the room, but before he could the Prophet raised his hand.
"Oh and Jek, please let the Arbiter know his sword is ready"

Covenant species members either where invited or conquered. Species that are a threat to the status quo and do not hook to the their religious mumbojumbo are written off for extinction (aka humanity: More to it, but that's the easiest non spoiler answers)
There is some preexistence prejudice amongst the members to, but the species are given religious hierarchy. The conflict with humanity though begins to ware and tear on that hierarchy and preexistence prejudice and something Kile is handling well. Keep in mind I am not a Halo nut, fan, or expert. Just the simplest breakdown from what i can remember.
