Not really sure if its a dagger and knife just sounded too plain The blade is a re-use of a model i made while watching 'The Golden Compass' which was a pair of 'Wolverine Claws'.
Anyhow, the "Low-Ki", sometimes mispelled amongst the Rebels as 'Loki' or 'lowkey' due to pure blunder or simply not caring, is a fighting knife with two holes along its handle, one for the pointer finger and the other for the pinky finger. These finger holes allow the user to flip it around and hold it with the spine of the blade against their wrist and arm, or hold it like you normally would. The change in the curving down blade allows for a little pressure to be used to cause the tip to penetrate and gash being made while the user is slashing making a deep gash rather simply.
The Rebels, even the GFA soldiers that get them off dead rebels, customize the Low-Ki making trench art out of them. The handle being the target of most of this customization, most Low-Ki's are sent away to have wooden panels placed on the sides, or in the case of most a length of parachute or other available cord is taken and wrapped around the length between the finger holes giving a bit of added grip. At first the GFA had banned the carrying of these knives by thier soldiers but after having seen a flood of them being seen worn by all ranks the ban was removed and restrictions on how many and what was acceptable 'modifications' were made to enforce the carrying of these knives.
Although the blade is thin it is sturdy when used properly, but as soon as one begins to use it incorrectly the blade will often snap leading to the Rebels noticing their enemy having taken a liking in the blades decided to do a bit of business and make blades that weren't as shallow, but changed the downward curved tip to a upward curved tip due to small problems.
The Rebels then shipped these knives into the public market, both the originals and deeper versions, and to their joy both soldier and civilian have purchased these blades system wide. However to the GFA's dismay this also helped fund the Rebels, thier small blunder having been a benefit to the Rebels.
And yeah, dunno 'why' i've been more and more keen making little stories and long winded explinations about images lately. Anyhow, i believe that's all i have for telling about the Low-Ki.

Enjoy~

True. But given time one could simply milk a spider or serpent of its dangerous liquid then that liquid then be slipped into food or drink, or transfered to a syringe and simply enject someone with it while they sleep.
I didn't mean literally using the animal. Just the attribute that makes it deadly.

Yes, but unless you're willing to carry around a one-use syringe everywhere to kill someone later, it's not practical for how the knives are beign used, they're not premeditated murders, this is a bunch of idiots going into the city with knives on their person, getting drunk and having fights escalate...
Oh... I guess that'd work.
Though i measured one of my 'throwing knives' and with it just under 9 inchs i was correct in saying that the Low-Ki is a solid 10 inches. Though the gfa and civilian version which has the deeper blade is just a little short of 10 inches. Will tryand post it up sometime today.
