Kitsunes are often revered as powerful cosmic entities or even as gods on Zarren, but there is one that doesn't appeal to the people. Legends tell of a Black Kitsune that acts much like a parasite, embedding itself in a host and feeding off their fears as well as those around them. Once the Black Kitsune has gained enough strength, it will start sapping the strength of it's host, even taking on their form, making a mockery of powerful heroic figures, or even manifest herself in the form of people's fears. Given how it feeds off of fears and causes terrible visions in the Dream Realm, the Zarrenian people have dubbed the Black Kitsune as "Nightmare."

In the current era Nightmare has taken on the form of Sarena, Saren's female form, after having been embedded in the dark hero by his brother Adrian. Will Saren find a way to purge this evil entity from his body, or will he suffer at Nightmare's hands till he decays to nothing more than a husk of himself?
